Hey all. Im sorry if this is another "hey what can i do" and you all reply with "press the search button" but ive gotta ask some questions. I havent been on this forum for a while and i just been reading up again over the last 2 weeks (tryn to get back into my idea for my mini) Its a white mini van if anyone remembers? anyways... After i fix panels and whatnots, as everyone else, i want to focus quite heavily on the motor. At the moment its got an 1098 donk with a 1.5"su. Im thinking of getting a 1275 getting it bored to 1330 maybe. Using a metro turbo crank, dished pistons, and a jap supercharger. I hear good things about scatter cams, but i dont know how they would go with the blower, also im worried about the box, but i think ill recon a K box and deal with it later. Havent decided about the carby. Looking at 7-9psi maybe? anyways.. hope someone can take the time to comment/guide me. Thanks fellas, -Mik |

the best supercharger kit, well the only supercharger kit available in australia is the one supplied to a mob in melbourne (can't remember the name) from a guy in WA (again can't remember the name) it is recommended to use a STD 1275 block a 1330 while possible would probably cause more issues than you would gain. a 1275 with a supercharger will probably be enough and from all reports i have heard fairly reliable. using a scatter cam is again possible but the extra work involved to make it work with a supercharger.... you need to really know what your doing. It'll also make it very difficult to drive at low revs. But if you really wanted to do it yes it can be done. But your looking at some decent cash removal to do it. Cheers Aaron |

The one in Melbourne is the autorotor kit, I think Link Automotive do it. There's also the Sprintex kit from WA, haven't seen much of it lately. The best one though IMO is the one from Stuart Gurr, at VMAX in the UK. Link is here http://www.vmaxscart.co.uk/ click on `supercharger kit'. You don't want or need a scatter cam, or any big duration one if fitting a blower- all it will do is lose you torque at low and mid rpm. A 1330 will be OK, (it's only .060" overbore) but don't bore any bigger for a blower application. If it's not overbored from stock yet, a 1293 or 1310 would be better. ![]() |

Here's the link to the Melb mob: http://www.hi-flow.com/HP3Mini%20Super.htm I sent them an email to enquire about price and their reply was: The price of our Mini kit is $5375 AUD plus GST. Our comprehensive kit includes all components (incl. new SU carby and K&N filter) to convert a standard Mini to a supercharged Mini, including detailed fitting notes. |

Or if you would rather turbo, but just don't want to hack a bloody big hole into the firewall, these guys do manifolds etc to put the turbo above the clutch, as kazjim did- http://www.miragemotorsport.com/ ![]() |

Ah thanks fellas. Ive got a bit here to have a look at now. I wont be spending anything until about march, so its all research until then. I was thinking a turbo before (getting a metro turbo set and go from there) but i didnt want much to do with body welding.. so this placing it above the clutch could be good. Was hoping for a supercharger though to eliminate lag. The scatter cam idea is as good as gone now. And the 1330 may be too big (as you all say) so i think ill just sit in the back for a while and look around. Thanks again. |

Best bet to look in the wallet and decide how big the hole can get!! Could go a VTEC = Big hole big smile 160hp + 6 gears (one is reverse) running unleaded, very economical, last a long time and you could probably join the Honda club and beat half of them. run the radiator + thermo fan in the rear subframe Run the injected fuel line like the monaros as they dont use a "return line" Go 12" HB torana wheels and Metro brakes |
