1300's are all Autos. Yes they fit. Yes they are able to be converted to Manual... a fair bit of machining is needed. Start off with a Manual block - much easier. And no they are not an A+ block |

They are same block as an 1100S except missing an oilway or 2, and dipstick hole.. I run one in my 1360. They need oilways modified to fit manual- check my sticky thread (with pics) above ^^^ If you want one modified the same, PM me. ![]() yes they are a 1275, will bore to 1380 or beyond. |

Anto wrote: willy wrote: 1300's are all Autos. ![]() Should have worded it a bit better. There was no such thing as a Morris 1300. They were all automatics. I am guessing this guy is looking at an engine from a Morris 1300. |

There is such a thing as a Morris 1300 manual, we just didn't get them in Australia. All Australian built Morris 1300's were made with Autos. |

Yeah there were manuals (1300 and 1100)....used to be heaps of them here (until mini owners gutted them all). The english 1300 GT's over here are more or less an 's' spec motor I think. |

The way to tell an Oz Morris 1300 one is the engine # prefix which is 12YE/A/H Also there's no oil hole in the RH side of the oil pump mounting cavity. Same goes for the rarer Oz Morris 1100S automatic, whatever its prefix was. same motor. ![]() |

All Australian built Morris 1300's were made with Autos. I know of an elderly lady with a Morris 1300 manual, which she bought new, in Australia. I assumed it was Australian built? Although I do know with the Morris 1100 we seem to have a variation of Australian and English models in the country. |
