There's a lot of people doing this, try the search function and definitely have a look through Mini & A/A+ Series Mods. Supercharging, turbocharging, engine swaps...it's all in there.

Better off to post what you want to put the turbo on. Are you going for street or track car etc - more details.

Also better to post in A series forum as there is less traffic and more likely to get a response

Daniel

PS - Mick, thats funny as lol

Hypothetically speaking, if I said turbos on minis are excessively expensive and
that there are cheaper ways to get more power, would you change your mind on the topic?

It seems everywhere I look this week someone it wanting to jam a turbo on their car.
Example, this bloke at work reckons that by bolting a large turbo (got it cheap from a mate) onto a bog-stock 1.8 ltr gemini he can achieve 400 hp.

Dont mean to vent in your topic Brayds, but this has been coming for a while.
You just copped it. :D

Boosting is a good way of increasing trhe power.

Bsacially makes your engine bigger, in real simple terms.

Try http://www.turbominis.co.uk then go to forums, they shouold be able to help ya!

There are a few people on here running turbo'd minis, a few people running turbo'd mini with Jap motors, and a quite a few people on here running supercharged mini's (including me). So there's a decenta mount of help out there for ya!.

What kind of motor, A-series? What size, to what spec?? Let us know more, so we can help!

Cheers, Tim.

I have something on the boil now... like Tim said, give us some specs!!

You can get big power from A series motors naturally aspirated... eg/ Josh and I have around 46hp at the wheels from 1100's, Kev (DRMini) has around 87hp at the wheels from his 1360
Ben has 102hp at the wheels from his 1100 Turbo...

So yes, you can get big power from natural, but more with a blower (turbo or super)
There are potential drawbacks though... eg/ Cost... it MIGHT cost you more, reliability... if its not built right you might break things, etc

Cheers,
Pete.
