Post subject: | Single filament Morris front indicators?? |
I have installed my H4 headlight conversion, with the parkers in the headlight, so now I am looking to change my Morris front indicators to orange globe, however these globes have a single filament ( ONE contact on the base ) and are not compatable with the Morris globe socket (offset pins aswell). I have no intention of painting the normal clear globes (dodgey), or fitting Rover indicators cos i want to keep the Morris lense. Is there another model of morris that has the same indicator assembly to suit a single filament globe??? Or am i just wasting my time? |

Have your tried LED orange globes from autobarn. I have them on my car but not sure of what type. They have various types so they might have yours. |

I already have some spare orange globes here, and i AM going to file one of the side pins off, but i was hoping that i could get a proper socket and base for the orange globe - due to the original base (the plate with the spring behind it) having 2 electrical contacts.... i had a good think about it at work tonight..... maybe i'll just use a large amount of solder across the 2 contacts, making 1 big contact, so that the globe will connect properly..... Yeah, LED's are a good idea, but a little too hi-tech for the 850's setup.... and i've found that LED's can only really be seen when you stand directly infront of em... (i should know - i've used TONS in the mazda...) |

multi angled - meaning each LED in the socket aims in a different direction perhaps..... their beam is determined by the radius on the end of the diode, and dont have the ambient capability of a filament globe...... unless you've found some CrAzY globes i've never seen before (it is possible) either way, i still need to do the single contact base, after that i'll play with different globes... |

Try this website: http://www.superbrightleds.com I know someone who has actually used these in his clear lenses. You have the choice of Wide Viewing Angle LEDS. |
