Step 1. Give Engine to Graham Russell.

Step 2. Wait.

Step 3. Wait Some More.

Step 4. Yet More Waiting..

Step 5. Hand over copious amounts of $$$

Step 6. Emerge with fully rebuilt Motor with massive power.

Tip. Listen to what he has to say.

Tip2. Only bore out the engine as far as you need to go. ie next size up.

However it's worthwhile boring to 1330 or 1360 IMO, you still have another rebore or 2 left afterwards.

Supercharge.

Not better than turbo, I just have no turbo experience, but my mini is supercharged, so I can speak from experience.

Boosted over N/A any day. It's great fun, not too expensive (cheaper than a tough N/A motor) and gives awesome torque.

I got 50hp atws @ 6000rpm from my Cooper S motor, which IO wasn't happy with I expected about 55 but due to lower compression pistons and such no more.

A few months ago I got 75hp atws @ 4900 rpm (Runing too rich and ignition intermittant, couldnt go any higher, now fixed and happily goes to 6500rpm+)

75hp atws (my guess is around 78 now, as it revs much higher and fuelling is much better, but no proof), with stock head, stock cam. Yeah.

Turbo or Supercharge, it's really the only the way to get awesome results. I have a sedate road motor, no silly cams, just nice smoother power. Sure for more Hp you want crazy cams and worked head etc. But I have hot 1275 power without having a hot 1275.

Think of a really powerful N/A A-series, then add 7psi, yeah much better.

Turbo injected Twin cam 16v BMW motorbike cyl head conversion

When money is no object & you want the very best , then why bother to do anything less???
