Hey all no one will ever guess what i just picked up... Some 9.2inch vented disc brakes with calliper and hub setup to fit a mini, including new cooper s cv's, so the brackets were made so that it bolts straight on... HOPEFULY Camira discs and callipers, for both sides they are pretty heavy but i will be stopping 
They sure beat forkin out almost $2500 for cooper s brakes, and these even came with cv's and everythin ready to bolt on.. |

na i got them from this guy out at camden, im not too sure if he has anymore complete sets there, but he has the brakets drilled and cut ready to fit on if anyone wanted them, just need discs and callipers off a 84 - 89 camira model JD - JE i dont want to put his number up yet ill have to as him if thats alright with him, dont want to piss him off, he seems like a nice guy |

I know of a few people running the camira brakes. It's a pretty solid mod... I think the calipers are bigger than the honda's (not surprising) so they should stop well. This bloke at the Qld Mini Muster had come up from sydney... he had 13" simmons mags over them I'm pretty sure. He won a couple trophey's. dewey |

I think Ozmotorsport had them on his Clubbie racer. Inside 13x8 Performance Superlites.. 
12" wheels? Maybe. 10"? Forget it. |

you must've got them off Geoff Hugenberger, he is a nice bloke... I bought my Cooper S off him. Does a lot of work for mini people south of sydney - tho it worries me a little that he uses minis to fund his porsche habit - no class at all! |

Please not if you fit them you will need to use his specially mad 12 inch wheels or 13's as the will not fit on 10's or Performance 12's |

well this is why i was in such a rush to get them.. i have a set of 13x7 performance superlites with yoko rubber and to fit them i need to upgrade the suspension so im goin with the koni adjustables (any comments on them would be much appriciated) this is all goin on a 68 mini van shell by the way so to fit the suspension i needed to figure out what i was doin with the brakes, and i have heard may bad comments about the honda discs, and the camira ones are 9.2" vented! so to fit the wheels i needed new suspension to fit the suspension i need new brakes so now i have practially new everythin except a motor.. but that is under way, im thinkin a metro turbo? and with the honda discs if they are machined down to fit under 10's the calliper is still sized for the lager 9" i think they are, so machining them down only reduces the contact surface, and i have heard reports of the pads wearing unevenly and eventually jamming the brakes on, as the piston had not functioned properly also... |

not too sure about gettin them engineered but i will soon find out when i try to get mine registered, it will have to get engineered so i will hope for the best, they should pass as there is no welding done in the change over its all bolt on and it should stop a hell of alot quicker than the lame drums it had on the front |

jan was running camira disc brakes on mutant intially then she swapped them for cooper s's for some legality reason but she said that the camira's braked better than the s's did. pretty sure that's what she told me. |

thats what i like to hear.. being able to stop is a good thing, and if i cant get them an engeneering cert for them, then ill jst have to take the car to the right people to get the blue slip

I've seen the camira disc's used commonly on racing minis. Easy to get parts if somethin goes wrong. |
