I'm led to believe, better in theory than practice, you'll get the the same results and benefits from changing your diff ratio and other such items. I heard bearing and is it called a sector?? doesn't like the extra gear? anyways this is what I hear.

i'm sure someone will give you all the information you're after. Good luck and remember each to their own its your Mini.

You are better off spending the money on rebuilding your engine to make more power to comfortably pull a higher diff ratio - which will allow it to sit on the highway at lower revs.

Or put a late 5speed jap motor in there :P

Or a Magna to lose the 'bogan' image and gain the 'grandpa' image
It's real good for cruising nursing homes.

willy's new money making trick. Cruise into a nursing home with a grey grampa's car. Sneak around & nick the $500 each that old people keep in their wallets because they can't work out ATMs and have passbook accounts.

oops end spam

*apparently* they wear the bearings quickly, as the 5th gear isn't supported as well by the bearings and webbing as the first 4 ratios;you can see the 5th gear on this box, to the right hand end of the casing....

no idea how true this is these days though...

minifinity.com may be the place to ask, as most of the members are in UK and have sensible prices for this kind of stuff
