Hi,

Just got a supercharger from a 2004 Bini Cooper S. (as you do)

It is lovely and compact, and I would love to fit it onto an A series. (built specially for that purpose! Probably my old 998 bored 60 Thou..... mmm nice!)

Seen the website of Vmax Scart, and talked to him, but he wants me to send the 'charger to him to mod. Bit of a high freight price i reckon! (UK)

So, who here knows what Mods I need to do to get this to work? Obviously inlet manifold fabrication / modification, pulley set ups, carbs, induction tubing (intercooler?) etc. any mods to the 'charger?

Who has done this sort of thing in Aus?

Any good books on the subject?

Cheers
Matthew

you have to modify the charger a little bit as there is no real way to mount a carb. you cut the charger inlet so you can mount a flange
the inlet manifold is easy to build
the Vmax way you can not fit an intercooler
some pics of my setup, but i have no time to finish it at the moment

i can make more pics if you want

Got any pics from 'underneath' where the inlet manifold joins on?

Cheers

im lookin at doing this at the moment, you need to modify the internals of the supercharger to take fuel as the way its mounted on the new mini it is a blow through system.. where as the mini one is suck through.. if that makes any sense.. if anyone knows how to do this id be very interested.. but it seems hard

you can use it both ways, the charger won't mind.
problem is with a blown throu system you don't have space to fit a carb between the charger and the cylinder head without relocating the charger.
i'm building it as an injection setup and cannot fit injectors in the manifold so i will inject directly into the chargers inlet. of course this is not the best setup but the easiest way.
my next step will be relocating the charger to have an intercooler and the injectors in the "right" place close to the head.
but first this one has to work
