Post subject:  Gemini starter motor disengagement

Can anyone tell me if theres any way to tell if a gemini starter motor is disengaging from the flywheel by sound or any other method rather than having to pull the thing out again?? :?

It would be making a really loud grinding/gear noise if it's not disengaging as the engine would be turning the starter motor.

Is there any other symptom you can provide to help out?

Sometimes you need to put a thin spacer between the Gemini starter and the flywheel housing, it depends where the flywheel & ring gear are sitting.
but don't just use flat washers, the starter will rock about.
