HI guys
I have just popped the gearbox of my motor. Appart from pulling it to bits is there any things I can inspect, measure etc to get a general idea of the overall condition of the box?. Is there things I should be looking for?. All the gears seem to be in good nic theres no apparant wear marks etc etc. The reason I ask is because I have 2 boxes a rod change and a remote change, I want to be able to choose the better one before I spend any money.

Thanks in advance guys
Michael

All I can suggest is check the condition of the cage in the bearings.
I pulled a box apart once to find bits of the cage missing.
Check the syncros too.
:D

KC gives a couple of pointers in Mini Expert. Check of movement in the layshaft and sloppiness else where
