hey all,

i have noticed that linkautomotive.com.au sell twin screw supercharger kits for minis. Has anyone here had dealings with this product and tell me whether or not they are worth it?

haven't dealt with them, but I reckon it's too expensive - search in this forum for a thread about making your own setup... I'm in the process, and I came across a guy who will sell a kit (less blower and carb etc.) for around $800. PM me for his contact details

Dude in hotbricks makes those kits. 850pvan knows the dude. $700 without the screw, or $1200 with. Thats everything except the carb. All ya need is an engine that will take it (ie lower compression).

does that mean you have two head gasgets...sounds strange to me :?

I thought it was just a special head gasket which is thicker to lower the compression, rather than having 2 gaskets to seal an extra plate in there.

to lower compression you really only have 3 options

1. low comp pistons (best option in my opinion)
2. shorter rods (dont know if they are available for minis)
3. decompression plate (this does require 2 head gaskets. downside is middle of combustion chamber has extra point of failure.. two head gaskets instead of 1.. but on the upside is reversable if you want to move the kit to another car/engine.. note guys. if you choose this option you need longer pushrods otherwise you will root up your rocker geometry and you wont get asmuch lift
(yes you can adjust the tappets to make correct clearence but they will be on a funny angle and your valves wont open as much.. trust me.. been there done that!)
