Hey, Is ther anyway to cut the stock manifold in half, so i can use the inlet manifold from it, when i buy my extractors? How would i mount it with the extractors if it has no screw holes?

got that right, im doing the same but im using the exhaust manifold and im getting an alloy intake... so ill use the exhaust manifold untill i get extractors i all ready got a full 1.75'' exhaust system all im missing is extractors..

Stock manifold will not fit over the centre branch of many sets of LCBs. there are some designed to do this but they are the same ones you should be avoiding...

The simple answer is yes. You will need to do both at the same time.

My 850 came with extractor (big bore LCBs, what were they thinking?), with an HS4 on a grinded off manifold, yes it fit, but it wouldn't have been good for power. Go aftermarket I reckon, I'd go twin 1 1/4s, but that's just me.

You need to bash the top of the centre exhaust pipe down so that a chopped cast steel manifold can fit. If you were to grind the manifold to fit an unbashed exhaust, you would make a big hole in the manifold due to the lack of steel in that area..

i hacksawed mine.. and it fit over my 1.75" 3-1's...

I have used standard cast intake on two sets of 3-1 extractors so just depends on what extractors you are getting.

I've got a spare set of LCBs in the shed that look like they are for his purpose. They are called 'wildcat' and were made somewhere is Aus.

They curved downwards alot quicker than the 'maniflow style' (they look like maniflows but maniflow is not written or embossed anywhere on them). They would fit a chopped off crappo manifold, but at ther expense of the inlet (it's a chopped off crappo... ) and they don't curve as nicely as the 'maniflow style'.

The Wildcat ones have a sharper angle, but still dont allow the chopped manifold to fit properly. They still require a bit of bashing on the centre branch. If you dont do it, the inlet manifold will still fit but it will be too high and the ports wont line up properly.

The only extractors I have seen to fit a cut manifold without being bashed are the old 3-into-1 manifolds like this one...

THANKS GUYS, im thinking of getting maniflow lcb

It won't fit over many UK made ones including Maniflow, but will fit all/most Oz made ones.

To locate the old inlet manifold after its `exhaustectomy', I MIG weld onto the ends of the mainfold flanges, then file a 1/2 round groove to locate over the studs.
If you don't do this (or dowel them to the head instead) the manifold will not align with the ports properly, and can move if nuts get loose.
