Post subject:  Auto boxes: The governor and carb

Can somebody please explain to me how the doverlaki on the back of the autobox interfaces with the carb and what it's job as a system is?
If anyone has any photos for me how to connect them that would be great!
Thanks.

there is a governor in the autobox that determines upshift speed and kickdown.
that throttle linkage controls it via the spring.
the more pressure it gets, the higher the upshift and kickdown speeds. :P

Now I get it!

The throttle position controls the lever and the gearbox!

(I thought it worked the other way, being that depending on speed or whatever
the lever would move the throttle open or closed to compensate)

I will nut that out further and see where I end up.

Thanks Doc!

Get hold of the Leyland Australia `Black Book' workshop manual, it has 46 pages on the AP autobox, with all the power flow diagrams, strip and reassembly details you would want.
Most manuals have a few pages that tell you how to adjust kickdown and do a converter stall test, and that's about it!
