Hey everyone how much power can u get out of a 1098 with out spending huge amounts of money.... i already have 1.75'' full exhaust system and HS4 carb with high flow air filter in custom air box... need more power, or should i just go and find a 1275 and rebuild it and add some performance parts to it.. thanx Todd ![]() |

Read this article ` smallbore part 1' by Graham Russell... sums it up well. http://www.minimania.com/web/SCatagory/ ... ticleV.cfm Then, go back and read his parts 2 and 3 too. Or buy TME magazine, see The Mini Experience forum in ausmini if you wish to subscribe or get back issues.. ![]() |

Sure, 1275 is nice-will give more torque & power easily if you have one already, but they cost more do$h to buy if you don't. Rebuild costs for a 1098 and 1275 are similar. |

Remeber though, 1275 requires disc brakes! Which are a good thing to have but cost more money on top of that. If you have 12inch (or bigger) wheels you can get a set of 8.4 discs at a reasonable price but if your like me and have 10inch whee;ls for got to fork out for 7.5 discs which cost more, generally. But I think the cost of buying 12inch mags and tyres + 8.4s is more than a set of 7.5s, remember that. |

Hey Slinkey (or anyone else who can answer this) How come the 7.5 discs are more exxy than the 8.4s? My newly acquired Deluxe has discs - I've yet to actually give it a proper once over so I dunno what size they are but its running on 10s so i *guess* they're 7.5s (plus i dunno much about the mechanical side of things heh heh heh ![]() ![]() |

No other reasons I can think of, apart from greed and avarice..... ![]() |
