Just wanting to know who runs a 40 DCOE weber on a 1098, and what setup they have in it e.g jets, chokes etc. and how it runs
Mine seems to kinda stall if you take off too quik, but once you get too 2000rpm, its really smooth and quite good power. i just want to get rid off this stalling so i can drive it to get dyno tuned, it can be quite dangerous, when pulling out of a street
i have 32mm chokes, 4.5 venturi, 145 main jets, 50f8 idle jets, 50 acc pump jets, 180 air correctors

hey guy's i have a 1098 as well and i was going to put a 40 DCOE on it but from wat i have hurd a single SU HS4 will put out the same power as a 40 DCOE and 45 DCOE.. but if i was to choose a webber for a 1098 i would go for the 40 DCOE with 34mm chokes as they are alot better on a small bore engine, with modified head, mild cam, and 1.75'' exhaust

MRClubby1098 i have just gone from the hs4 SU to the weber, and all i can say is the weber is so much better, i thought i was driving a 1275. with the hs4 i could barely go above 4000rpm, now it just hammers along to 5500rpm

An HS4 is pretty harmless for power, if you want to run a single SU on a 1098 and get good power, the HS6 or HIF44 is the go.

Personally, I like 40DHLA Dellortos- they look/sound like a Weber but are cheaper to buy, and IMO are easier to jet, and give better economy.
CPOCSM would agree...

so i take it no one on here runs a 40 dcoe weber on a 1100

maybe does anyone know what causes the huge hesitation off idle
i have to feed the accel pedal really slow, then by 2000 rpm all good

I run a 40DHLA on a 1098, so it doesn't compare exactly. I would have thought that 145 mains are a bit big, 130 or even 120 would be better. That and the accelerator pump may be flooding it slightly on progression, this is exactly what mine does, just not as bad by the sound of it.
How worked is your 1098? On a stock 1098 I would run 30mm chokes to get a bit more low down tractability.

I was running my Dell'orto on a 1098+20, extractors 202 and std cam, and ran 30mm chokes, 120 mains, 55 pumps and 55 idle jets, 180 air correctors and .6 emulsion tubes. Don't know if this can be exactly compared with a Weber. That was after having it dynoed. Ran fine but had a slight hickup similar to what your getting. On the 1098+60 I just dropped in with mild cam I am going to try running 32mm chokes and see how that goes.
