Trawling through ebay I came across the following, first one manifold of this type I've ever actually seen. He refers to Vizard in the ad, did Vizard ever find this setup useful?

You can fit that one under the bonnet if the filter is not too tall. :wink:

Vizard liked the 48IDA instead for track work, it DOES stick up heaps... U need to peer around it. :lol:

If you want your car to break down or crash all the time then yeah... put a Webber in it... but if you want it to sound cool and go hard then put a Weber in it. :P

Gday yeah it looks good but the weber is mounted wrong the barrels are different sizes so it would mean the fuel has to flow different lenghts to each port as the throttle open as they open in sequence.
I have made a manifold that is on my car now that mount the weber at 90 degrees to that one pictured in the original post

As you open the throttle the ports receive even fuel flow which makes it easier to tune.

just my 2 cent worth.

Rad97, you are talking about a different type of down draught weber, there are many types of webers & the one in the original post has 2 throats, both are 32mm & acuate simultaniously.

The one that you are talking about has 2 differing sized throats (& are actuated as Primary & 2ndary throats) & therefore uses a diffently oriented manifold-->the 90 deg manifold that you are talking about which is also avalible around the traps , if you look hard & long enough.

Sorry but if you look at the throttle linkages they are definately stageing e.g. one opens first then the other but yes I agree there are many different types.

Hhmmm you may be right,,, i didn`t click on the e-bay link first time,,, & even now that i have i still can`t quite see/focus on the throttle linkage to tell if it is, but that carb in the e-bay link is also looking like it has 2 differing sized throats just viewing it side on at the casting, so you are probaly right, i`ll stand corrected, my eyes are not what they used to be & my familiarity of that particular weber is left wanting also :-( Humble pie concidered eaten if that is the case :-) Dam ,,, now you`re making me dig out my weber book & check up the numbers :-)

Its not a split manifold, so both barrels will still feed both inlets....... even though the main barrel is slightly offset, it will still work.
