An early aftermarket twin SU manifold , but is it twin 1 1/4" or 1 1/8" , just looks small . What is the diameter of the carb side holes ? It's very similar to the one on the sports850 but looks smaller and shorter for some reason .

That's a neat engine bay . There were a fair few manufacturers making manifolds in the 60's , normally they had a makers name on them but some did generic looking ones for others to stamp as their own as well . Anything stamped on it anywhere ?

Clean as a whistle nothing stamped on it. No clues!

Just went for a look , it is the same casting as the one on the sports850 so all I can really suggest is it what I know about my cars history , it was converted by P and R Williams in Sydney very early in 1963 so I would assume they were made in Sydney (the sports850's converted by Peter Manton Motors had a manifold with Peter Manton cast on it) and is very early 60's or possibly before . A series motors had been about for a while and tuners were making things for them in minors and A30/35/40's( Not sure if all the A's had the A series in them or not ) .

Yes the A30, A35, A40 farina had the A series. Earlier A40 Somerset & Devon did not.

That basic manifold design was used by Manton, Alexander, Warneford, and Lynx- probably others too.
IMO it's a better design than the early Cooper ones, but check the ports do match the carbs and the cylinder head, they are often out a bit.
