Timing chain is loose? Before I changed my timing chain mine used to move 4-5 degrees up and down at about 4000rpm
Not sure about the autop box bit...

The auto engine I have put in isnt behaving. The timing when set to 4 degrees when running jumps forward and backward of 4 degrees.Timing light being used also set manually. All new plugs, leads, points and condensor. Has anyone had this prob? How can I fix it? The auto box jumps from 2nd to 4th? |

Gearbox bearings? Check obvious first! As that is a big job, well I think it is, I don't own a mini auto so I don't know. Workshop manual (SP manual) says that incorrect gear change speeds whic could desribe whats happening, as it's shifting into 4th are far too low speed. It metions 'governor control rod adjustment' so check that out. Erratic gear changes mean that you would need to replace the governor thing. So have a look into that and seek professional and experienced mini help. |
