hey guys and dolls. People said to me that If you dont rev the tits off my mini it should last a while. What is the max you should rev your mini. Notice I said should and not could. Also what is the normal temp I should let my mini get to. I have a thermo fan that comes on at 80 and it never goes past this. It was less before I changed oil, dunno why. David |

Honestly keep it below 6000rpm and you will have no worries about breaking anything - as long as it is all in good nick. However I am trying ever so hard to ruin my 998 at the moment so I can justify putting the new motor in(why fix it if it aint broke!!)but the old girl is hanging on like a trooper. Saying this I have found a whole new avenue of fun in revving the tits off it in second and holding it to 6900rpm in third and she still wants more(albeit she is starting to hit the wall at this stage...lol). Shite it is fun and the howl of a small bore is fantasticand the sound of the dellorto...mmmhmmm...!!! ![]() Hooroo |

When I feel like keeping up with traffic lol my rev my 1330 to 6000 in second before changing into thrid, in first im not sure because im too busy trying to keep the wheels straigt lol, but seriously, i got a cooper s motor of 2200 kms old, and cooper s is a tough engine,. But when I drive normally, most of the time i shift at 4, but I don't see why you couldn't thrash ur mini.......haha ![]() |

80 is absolutely fine. the a-series can be modified any way you like it, and it can be made into a really smooth revvy engine that feels just like a modern car. |

My completely stock 998 has seen 6500 (or a touch more) on a few occasions. The power is still surprisingly smooth, and if something bad were to happen, the damage would be catastrophic. |
