I have a 12g1316 in the garage and its also got another number 515 written on it does this mena anything??

Not really, it's probably the number of the casting mould used.
For those who don't know, a 12G1316 is a so-called `smog' 1275 head with air injection ports.
They were used here on 1275LS, and I think the 1275 Moke.
Basically they are a 12G940 casting apart from these air ports.
They make fine race heads too. 8)
