Post subject:  S rods vs. Non-S rods

Hey guys, can someone tell me if non-s rods are going to be strong enough in my stroker build? Lookin at 120hp maximum. Do i really need to source the S rods, or can i get the others balanced and lightened etc?

Oh never mind, AEG177 are infact MK.I S rods. Anyone got a spare?! Will swap for AEG521... See post in wanted... which is exactly the same. :P

Kartbro,,,if you have a set of 521s then use them, they`re stronger than the 177s

Isn't there a problem with 521's and the camshaft in a stroked motor. Which is why 177's are needed.

Most strokers here in Oz I've seen were done using 521s- are you sure it's not the 8 port Arden head (with its funny cam lobe assignments) that causes the prob when stroked? maybe.... :?

my 1510cc stroker donk has crank offset ground to .080thou undersize & has 521 rods, that`s quite a big stroke --->(but that`s just what all the girls tell me :-) )
