Hi Everyone,
I recently had my alternator stop alternating

so I went and bought a 65amp alternator (Bosch of course) which belongs in a 1990 Ford Laser. (Its bigger and has the adjustment bolt opposite the two others.
See the pic here:
Well, I found 2 brackets which suit so well they needed no mods or welding.
1973 Falcons (the alternator is on the top left of the motor (inline 6) and there is a VERY long adjustment bracket on top.
1985 Magna (the alternator is on the bottom right of the engine and has an AWESOME curved bracket that also has a belt adjustment bolt - oh, so easy.
UPDATE Ford Cotrina 4.1l (inline 6) has the same bracket as the falcon too. Looong and cuurvey
I grabbed one of each and ended up using the Magna one.
Fits like a glove!
I also decided to use one bolt in the top, but the bolt that came with the alternator was bigger in diameter than the holes in the bracket and water pump.
I grabbed an 8mm threaded rod and used that... oh, too easy.
I'll post a pic of the finished job asap.
Cheers,
Peter
