New is $42.50 from the manufacturer online! :?

Hell if he makes a profit I am going to buy them from Linx and resell them online to make a buck or two!

I didn't think you could still get 2 screw rear tail lights new? When I went to get a new brake light lense for a 3 screw it was going to cost more than that just for the brake light, without indicator. The two screw ones are hard to get as only Aussie minis (from about 67? on) got them.

And the filter costs 42.50 direct, but usually retails for 52.50 from a retailer (I think that's what I paid). If you want to make money buying stuff direct from the manufacturer then selling it for more money, open a business coz that's kind of the point!

Cheers,
Anto

You can't get new LUCAS 2 hole lenses (they were made in Oz)- the ones being sold now are Taiwanese copies. Look OK when new, but fade real fast.....

re the filter, if it's the usual 445S type for 45DCOE the holes are not offset and so it won't fit on a Redline/Warneford manifold- it fouls the firewall.

(I'm running the smaller 440S filter with offset holes. I opened the 42mm holes out to 45mm and put a Finer Filter pad in it...)

Yeah.. so this filter has limitted use...

I swear I saw the tail lights new at Padstow... maybe the doc is right and they are cheap imitations...

[edit] Same as this one on Ebay!!! it's not the Original deal either!

I've got the 445S filter and its jammed up hard against the firewall  I thought thats just how they were meant to be :? I think it causes a few extra rattles and vibrations, but apart from that does it matter?

I might have to get one of those smaller ones. any reason you use a finer filter pad and not the standard ramflo foam?

Yeah they have less restriction, and when you oil them with Finer Filter or UniFilter oil, they don't catch fire like my Lynx one did...
Apart from that, Finer Filter were around the corner from where I used to work. :D
Not now- they closed up, got bought out by UniFilter I think. Dunno if UniFilter keep the pads in stock but I'm sure they can make them up!

I'd offset that 445 filter or change it, otherwise you are going to bust the manifold flanges...

oh  ...yeah... didn't think of that

EDIT: just called Minicraft (the local mini shop here) and he said they have 440S and 445S both with offset holes, and that they are both the same size. that correct??

No the 445 is bigger. They used to do offset, but they are no longer on Lynx's website.
The 440 seems to be in the same boat now.
What you want is a 445P5S or 440P5S, which has the holes lower to offset the filter UP.
Check the site-

<edit> fixed typo...
