Post subject:  Su carb piston springs

Hello all
I have just installed cooper s disc brakes a booster, cooper s extractors and a minispares inlet manifold with 1"1/2 su to my car over the long weekend. the problem i am having now is that the air filter i am using is sucking too much air and it's opening the piston prematurely. thus i am looking for someone to supply me with a double spring set, or a stronger spring for my carby. even some advice on where to get one would be great.

your air filter isn't sucking more air, it's your motor saying "thank god I can finally breathe properly" and sucking more air... you'll probably find the mixture is very lean now too

and what he said ^^^ thicker oil in the dashpot

Usually with upgrades even as minute as a change from a standard air filter to a sports one, it can muck up the mixture. Sounds like you may need a different needle.

Yep...Yep.and yep,,,total agree on all the above Once you change your airfilter, Exhaust, inlet Manfold or carb if you want the perfect tune you will need a Dyno Tune..as Mention by Mike..fill in your Details and we maybe able to direct you to a good place to go to with a Air fuel mixture and knows Mini's
then you you will be able to adujst it with needle's or the the state of tune your need
