Hi Strange Question perhaps! Anyone got any tips or tricks for supporting the engine whilst working on it, other than on the floor. |

Go buy yourself a good but fairly inexpensive engine stand , you can turn the motor almost 360 degree's and don't have to crouch down on the floor to do anything with it . Also you can wheel it around and out of the way when not working on it . Mine came from supercheap many years ago but I saw one out the front of the local Repco recently for about $80 but don't know if it was a one off price or not . ![]() |

Bought my engine stand off ebay for $49, brand new. They are small enough / light enough to have sitting on a table, as long as the table has a steel frame ![]() http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1000LB-CAPACITY-ENGINE-STAND-NEW_W0QQitemZ4628511995QQcategoryZ63697QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1000LB-CAPACITY-ENGINE-STAND-NEW_W0QQitemZ4627321077QQcategoryZ32053QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem |

You know those computer tables that are only approx. as wide as the key-board - pick one up from the Salvos or similar for $5 or less, remove all the crap from the top where the printer would go and there you go. It's on wheels so you can move it around - cheap - stable. OK, you can't rotate the engine like a more sophisticated thing but after all, we all know that you get what you pay for ![]() Hooroo |
