Hi, Ive got a 998 cc engine that i recently had bored out 40 thou and has been rebuilt. Its got an RC40 exhaust and extractors. The camshaft and rockers are standard, but the valves have been changed to run on unleaded. I plan to use it in hillclimbs and possibly rallying. Can you tell me what engine and gearbox mods would be best to do. Thanks. |

Replace the standard 998 head and get a 12G202 or 12G295(if you can find it) or you could pocket the block and use a 12G940 big bore head. Are you restricted in the capacity(cc) that can run ? if not you can stroke the engine by fitting a 1100 crank and pistons. If you are not restricted you are probably better off looking at getting a 1275 engine as these will be easier to get more horses out of ![]() ![]() have a look at: http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... hlight=998 |

put a performance cam in , electronic ignition and double valve springs, oh and make sure your carburettion is good enough if you want an 1100, buy one, don't ruin a perfectly good 998 ![]() |
