The nut on the First Motion Shaft came loose,causing some damage.
Have had to replace Mainshaft and 1st Motion shaft,plus bearings and bulkring.
Fitting "bling" flywheel and driveplate with the re-build. :D

Looks like some of you guys are getting serious for the upcoming Kwinana drags - that's the second lightened flywheel I've seen today, and they're both getting fitted to big bore 1275 engines :)

Those ultra light flywheels are too light for road use, IMO.
We are sending Cody's brand new one back because:
1. it has .050" lateral runout where they had welded the ring gear on
2. it is way out of balance
3. it goes so far onto the (good) crank nose that it would need machining inside to clear the C-washer on crank.

The steel road ones are a better bet, they run true, but man they are expensive as the one above.

I lightened a stock one instead, it fitted fine no problems. 8)

Appreciate your concerns and advise.We will check this out before fitting...
Also changing diff ratio as well-Need to get down that 1/4 Mile quicker :evil:
The LS does very little city road use-no stop/starts-so hopefully this won't be a concern :?:

You'll find it needs more revs to get away, that's all. And it is bound to run a bit rougher down low.:wink:

i was going to get a steel flywheel from mini spares uk. but after waiting 8 weeks i gave up. because they still didn't have on in stock

What about fitting a 3.9 diff-Doc?
Still need more rev's in 1st gear :idea:

Depends what terminal speed U got, but geared higher you would have 1 less shift, maybe.
