Post subject:  Twin 1 1/2" manifold

I have picked up twin 1 1/2" SU's L & R and was thinking of making my own manifold
Can anyone help with dimensions and photos of setups of 1 1/2" SU's on their cars or manifolds not attached.

Or buy a good one from maniflow in the UK. Forget the alloy ones go for a mild steel version.

Vizard reckons they are the best production manifold (inlet of course) for twin SUs.

I got one from maniflow for my twin 1.25" SUs andf then had it chromed!

As to making one yourself, I can email you some pics of the maniflow item if you like. (pm me if you want them)

Tricky as the internal bore size changes as you go from carb to inlet port, and it is curved as well to attain the right 'attitude'.

Good luck tho

I used to make them out of a pair of rear mini suspension trumpets (cut down of course) & some alloy plate, they work a treat :-)

easy-peasy

we made up Arden 8 port cross flow manifolds like that as well :-)

Very neat job though , I'd read your earlier post and was trying to figure how you'd worked them but that's nice and easy .

Maniflow steel fabriacted jobs are pretty good - better than ally ones. The ones Maniflow make for me are even better. But then this depends on the engine spec. If the engine doesn't need the extra flow/fuelling then an ally one might just do it. I think I may have a couple here if you're interested. KC.
