hi all,
reading the article about con's mini in fast fours

http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... ht=#199498

He said that he got a clubby and made it into a roundie? is this something done commonly?

Have any of you guys done this to a clubby?

I might be opening a can of worms here. But there are quite a few imported Rover Mini shells out there registered with the identity of a dead Clubman.

I'm not saying the car Con built is using a Rover shell.

But I know it is very hard to make an Aussie Clubman shell look exactly like a Rover one.... :?

Lets drop this topic OK. Con's car is bloody great. Looks briliant, has a work of art subframe and I have followed it over Mt Glorious where it went like stink. It's just tops.

Let's not get too picky about how it came to look the way it does.

I'm looking at doing this and called minisport. For $450 I could have a complete rover front shell cut. Not bad I say!

Love the name ROUNDMAN i think I'll adopt it

this is probably a dumb question but would you get more room in a clubby shelled roundnose?

no u wont. all the extra room (90mm or so ) is from the clubman front pannels, everything such as firewall , subframe and crossmember are identical to round nose , so the answer is no .
also the best conversion i have seen was ozmotorsports brg mini
( number plate NPU-55Y) dont know if he or the car is still around

Oz and the numberplate are still on here, but that `PUSSY' car went north to Cane Toad Country...
The numberplate is now on Baracade's old `Pretend GT'... 8)

what would the cost of doing this sorta thing be??
im a total noob to welding and panel work but if i took a front cut shell to a panel beater and said take the clubby front of this car and replace it with the roundie how much would that set one back?
