What car do u want it in? a roundie or a clubie? maybe a bit more info on the type of radiator you wanna use as well might help, but hows this for a pic-

Why bother?

Leave the rad in its original spot, piss off the mech fan and shroud, thermo fan in the guard. 3 core rad if necessary, and if you're still running hot, plumb a heater matrix in on the clutch side out front. This way you still have easy access to dizzy (not required with pulsar conversion) alternator (not required with bosch conversion) starter motor (not required with gemini conversion) oil filter (still required....) and have room for an oil cooler if necessary?

cos we can.... no, seriously though mini radiators are hard to get in good condition second hand ( say under $100) but ata wreckers there are thousands of jap radiators just waiting to go into minis . plus because these parts are so common you usually get them for about $20 - $40 .

I would stick with a traditional mini radiator any day of the week - they don't make them like they used to. Being brass, they are easily repaired, via soldering, brazing etc. You can easily clean the cores on them for less than $100, and you're good to go.

Newer aluminium radiators - don't get me started. Plastic end tanks wtf? If the core clogs up, can't be cleaned, throw it away. Get a hole - new core. Just had to go through this pain - with my gf's car 87 Pulsar, - pin ning nong leak - looses 500ml per day. Core is too thin to braze/weld whatever it will just melt... Symbolic of todays throwaway cars...

thanks for the ideas, at the momoent im still actually looking for a cheap registered van, but i just thort id ask as i use to have the normal heating probs on my 74 clubbie
