Post subject:  Air holes in HIF carby

Hi guys.

I'm after a bit of help. here's a pic down the throat of my HIF44
http://members.optusnet.com.au/petejast ... G_0019.JPG

the 2 holes you can see are joined together, as well as to the breather port on the outisde of the carby. The breather is currently plugged.

since those 2 holes are connected it's like an air path which bypasses the throttle disc. surely that has to mess with something... are these holes normal on HIF carbys !?!?

thanks everyone
Pete

yes, i do believe it is normal. the HIF series carb was made for a pollution rating, would have been a part of that. sort of a recycling system. in the eyes of the law, plugging it off is a nono, but hey isn't any modification these days?
