my mate just put it on his supercharged dato. he got some EXPENSIVE shite, but it was given to him. apparently it can be hazardous with your normal extractors/manifolds. He only put it on coz his is all ceramic coated. So beware, it can create cracking etc. ![]() ![]() |

Someone did some tests a while back- they found if you wrap normal steel extractors they rust out, way faster. But OK for a race car I guess. |

Hi guys. I'm using both on my club race car so I might be able to give you some advice. 1> Ceramic Coating- I have the exhaust manifold and exhaust turbine housing coated with Jet Hot 1200 Deg F coating (black). It cost about $350 for the manifold and $300 for the turbine housing. You might be able to save a bit if the parts are new as they don't have to sandblast them. It cut down the temps like you wouldn't believe in the engine bay and the turbo spooled up quicker also (amazing change in temp under the bonnet). 2> Thermal wrap- Cheap. About $50 a roll and is better than nothing in a turbo application. My advice, if your beast is turbo'd, get the Jet Hot Black coating. If its not turbo'd, don't use anything unless you like the look of wrapped pipes in which case go for it. Good luck.. |

Ill add a little heat (LoL) to this one. When Morris was recond a put wrapping on to the LCB. I'v been advised by two towies and a Mech that to help in rusting out the LCB. But hay it came with the car and all I was looking for was to reduce the heat under the HIF44, If it rust out Coolies a new one will be perchased. I must admit for Marcia it will be JET-Hot job and the shinny one Bling-Bling. ![]() But at a total of $500 ![]() I dont know how old Morris LCB was before we got her but its still good after 2 years so it realy depends on how long it takes for the bandage takes to corrod the exhaust? for the price. I purchased a short length of bandage from Rare Spares for under $45 before I found out of the cheramic coating at $300 Anyone have an idea of the differance in temp between the two Your choice guys |
