Post subject: | after some advice |
I have a standard 850 dont want to change the motor but was after a little bit more guts for the old girl would a set of 1.5 roller rockers and a set of extractors with the standard carb run alright I am already going to put on elecronic ignition as the motor has only done 20k km since being rebuilt. Long term i am looking at a jap engine transplant but want a little more for the mean time. all advice welcomed ![]() |

As a set of 1.5 roller rockers costs $BIG, and the stock 850 cam is pretty tame, I would change the cam first- then port the head or fit an 1100 one (12G202). I doubt fitting a $500 set of rockers alone with stock will make more than a couple of HP (maybe). You can do a cam change on an 850-998-1098 whilst engine is in car. ![]() |

Change cam, bolt on a bigger head as suggested. Whack on some extractors, RC40 exhaust and twin 1 1/4 SU's and you'll have a pokey 850 ![]() |

Whack on this, bolt on that, yada yada. Mate, cheapest way out is to change your engine, pref a 1275. Keep it simple. |

IMO change the cam for something else like a stock 1100 or RE13 and the head to a 12G202 off an 1100. ![]() Also to get the best out of the head and cam upgrade your carb to a bigger one and get some extractors. It does sort of follow on from it'self doesn't it ![]() |
