I finally received mine today after a month long wait. USPS lost it in transit, and I didn;t get a tracking number from the seller. Anyway. I got it today in a beat up box. I also received all the plumbing, pipes and the throttle body. I dcided to pull off the little cover on the pulley because it seemed to kind of bind up and catch. When I pulled the cover, a BUNCH of red dust came out. I assume it's from the clutch in the pulley.






So now I have a few questions. Can I just add a pulley with no clutch? I really don't care to have that option, and it would reduce weight on the pulley system.

Second, Is there a place to buy rebuild parts for these or information on what type of oil to use for these and general maintainance info?

Third, anywhere I should look for wear/play?

Yup, just read the SC-12 post and saw that there's special oil. Just wondring if there are places to buy seals as well. I'll have to check out Toymods. Thanks!

Does the kit that's available on this site just run the clutch "on" all the time? I'm just wondering how you guys are doing that. I see one red wire in the photos from the site. So I was assuming you just hooked it up to your ignition or something. If they are just stuck on, I'm going to try and find a pulley to eliminate that.

Yeah, they are "on" all the time.
You can buy alloy undrilled pulleys from industrial belt/pulley places cheap as chips
- you'll just need a friendly machinist to bore it out for you

hehe when i opened up mine liek that it was on a piece of paper but on the couch!! caught most of it on the paper but a fair bit wne tonto the couch, needless to say my girl was not a happy camper, thank god for removable couch covers!

Off Topic (Sorry): Have you found an SU/SC12 friendly Dyno-tuner in Melbourne kasperflipped? I haven't done anything - too busy driving my Moke (weather too nice to take it off the road) and working on Moke No. 2. Hope to have it all fitted to Moke 1, and Moke 2 finished by the Moke Muster in April next year.

Nah still havent done anything yet, i will be taking mine to link coz they have there own supercharge kit so im sure they know how to get it running right, not sure if they dyno it but of they dont ill also whack it on one afterwards just to be sure. Theres another thread somewhere that someone reccomended a good dyno for minis as this place specialises in MG's and such

Even though all that dust came out they usually still work fine if you decide to run just a straight pulley be sure to mount it to the bearing that the current pulley is on and not straight to the drive shaft as it is not designed to have side loading on it and will damage rotor shaft/bearing.
Checking for wear check rotors are not badly scored ,if you put your hand over the inlet and turnover by hand it should lighty suck on your hand ,should turn freely may be a bit gritty with carbon if taken straight of a 4AGZE but cleans out OK
