ausmini :: View topic - 5 sp or 6 sp

we ran a 6 speed Dog engagment g/box in my Mk1 "S" a few years ago,,,full race only tho,,,definately not suited to road use at all

Stew has the 2nd one in his 1600cc X-flow sports sedan (#89) featured in the mini world magazine from the Qld mini muster show.

They did cost $10,500 (each) a few years ago & were both made by KG Engineering, (no longer in business)

or you can get a suzuki or toyota 5 speed for half that but oh yeah that comes with twin cam 16 valves also and fuel injection all installed

i run a rod change gearbox in meeni and it reqired no body modification, just 2 new holes

Has anybody ever fitted a 5 speed or 6 speed box in their mini, if so how much dit it cost ya and how well does it go???? Does anyone know a good spot to get one from???? Thanks guys

mini spares in the UK I think. But you are looking at about $5000 before freight and taxes though!
