i own a 74 clubby and i tried to remove the drum brake casing to look at the wera and change the pads but i am unable to remove the skrews. tried almost everythin. is drilling the skrews out and using easy outs the best option. i wanto do a disc break conversion but the budget says no.

i had HEAPS of trouble removing lots of screws in the body of my car (havent touched the brakes yet)...i got a philips head attachment for my drill and just zapped em all with that...even the few that were well-rusted and totally imoveable by hand came out in a jiffy...

you've prolly already tried this though :)

when i was doing it by hand i found i almost stripped a number of them...the drill hits em so hard they just come out...whether they like it or not...even if there's only a tiny bit of thread left they still came out...i was well happy with that purchase :)

An impact screw driver is the best option. you can pick them up for about $15
