go to bunnings warehouse, $15 will get you an angle grinder,

then have fun, strengthen rear quarter panels, (just behind doors,)

have a polished roll cage made to suit,

blake

oh, speak to an engineer first to keep you out of trouble!!!

usually...
a 3/4 chassis is needed...
Strength needs to be added to the windscreen pillars...
You need some sort of roll over bar at the rear of the car...
The engineer will conduct a torsional test which is not cheap
ah but all engineers are different.

yeah i've heard horror stories from people that have done this on their own and ended up with a shell that looks more like a bowl of jelly than a mini :P

first you need to make a box section in the car from the rear arch to the front arch along the floor then two brases side to side one out of flat steel the other out of box then you need to make uprights behind the door pillars then you need to do one from the back of the door pillars and around the waistline of the car i know of one being done as we speak but cannot make comment on it when i see the person building it next i'll ask if i can take foto's and i will email them to you in confidance as not to show them to everyone ..... other wise he could build the frame for you and put it is at a cost

Righty-o,,,how`s about you buy one of my "Monaco" fast back fibreglass roof

Yeah???

Ok,,,so they`re not ready for approval yet,,,but, i can tell you that it will pass, first time too (i reckon) & if it doesn`t then i`ll work my butt off to make it pass,,,that i can guarantee you!!!

Then, basically any other roof jobs we doo in the same design will have approval, easy-peasy :-)

I was tinkering on the idea to make them removable too,,,so maybe have it organised to go through the approval system as a convertable & then have the "Removable Fastback Hardtop" just clip on down to it :-)

?????????????

yeah???????????

:-)

easy-peasy

no need for new scuttle panel,,,

The Monaco was produced with the screen raked back allready,,,easy to do...the trick is in the door window frames,,,it`s only time.

& i have the mould to make as many roofs as needed $1000 & you can have one .

It wouldn`t be too hard to mae this roof "clip on" ,,,i`m seriously looking into it.
