Hi, I am looking at putting a sc12 on a 1275 and was wondering how many people out there have a sc12 and what your experience is as far as performance and fuel economy. Estimated or dyno hp would be great!

If yes please post the engine specs.

My SC12 kit is in the post as i type from 92, Hopefully it should be installed by the end of the week, then i can tell you how it goes on a 1275 A+!

Thanks for that Beau yes I have had a read. I guess that is why a few experiences of the sc 12 would be good to hear! Good luck with the instiation kasperflipped keep us posted.

Well can anyone tell me what I could probably expect from a rebuilt 1312 with suitable mods and sc12? Am I expecting too much for close to 100 bhp at the wheels? If I cant get close to this I may as well stay with NA as I have heard of well sorted NA 1310's getting close to 80hp at the wheels.

Ran into problems on a late model Moke with A+. Crankcase vent on radiator end fouls belt. Presurised radiator bottle fouls SC pulley. Not planning on pulling my engine to bits at the moment, so will fit it to my 66 van with 1100S 1275cc. Looks like it will work there if it clears the bonnet.

hopefully have it up n running by christmas,

as i know know that my new (2nd hand 1100) is actually a VERY FRESH 1132!!!!! yipppppeeeeee!,

ive just got to sought out the cam, and 940s head, then i should have the kit bolted up and running, once i have the little beast running it will be then time for the disk brakes, so i wont be driving it till next year atleast!!!

Well I thought there were more cars with kits on them out there. Good luke Damo and Blake, keep us updated.

So does anyone think a reliable 100 hp at the wheels with a fully worked 1310 and sc12 is possible? I would like to hear peoples oppinions! I cant see the point of going the supercharger with increased insurance etc if I cant get close to this figure and will stick with a worked NA.

Damo :oops: sorry about that I had forgotton that we moved the radiator pressurizing tank on the Moke that we fitted one to . also I didn't realize that some A+ had a crankcase vent on the timing chain cover till the other week when Kasperflipped was looking at a kit.
Mini69 that sort of power is quite easy to achieve with a SC12 and a 1310

Thanks for replying 92, well it sounds like I better start saving then! So I doubt the 1.75 su will be sufficient for that power level, can I fit a bigger carb to your kit if so what should I use a 2 inch su?

Now will the gearbox handle all the torque.........

Ok what an eveing i have had installing my sc12 kit, first off i had the usual dramas that is getting the radiator out of a mini, such a pain, Then got down to unoding the harmaonic balance and F$%K me drunk that sucker was on tight!! 4 guys all hands on and it stil wouldnt budge so went to the race car factory next door and got their rattle gun............still wouldnt move, just when we thought it was going to be a lost cause, the next door factory guy says, ill go get the race gun and the gas bottle, HE comes back with this SNAP ON TOOLS rattle gun, the thing is enourmous and weighs about 100 kilos, he plug it into the bottle and starts rattling and YAHOO it cam undone!!!!!! We had a look as to why it was so hard and it had about 1/2 a bottle of thread locker on there, it was sooo thick that i couldnt even smash it with a hammer!! Anyways that drama over it was time to remove the timing chain cover to get rid of that breather that was discussed in previous posts, BUT there was a stripped nut on the cover DAMMIT, so out came the dremel and i cut that sucker off. So Now i had the cover off and i went to get the hacksaw to cut the breather off, but it was no where to be found, so again out cam e the dremel and off poped the breather. I covered the hole with some metal and sealed it all up, then tapped in a metal plug to connect the breather hose back up to Tthen i spent the last hour or so putting the car back to a state of being able to be wheeled around, Moral of the story, it took sooooooooooooo long to do sooooooo little, hopefully tomorrow night is more productive!! sorry for the long post

the kit is designed to be used with the hif44 (hif6) 1.75"

im stokec about the kit, cant wait to breath some fire!

I also have the breather at the clutch end. I forgot to check when pulling my Moke to pieces, would this foul the HIF44 carb or it's inlet or a 60mm ramstack?

Also, am I able to fit a timing cover (radiator end) that doesn't have the breather on it (assuming I can keep the breather at the clutch end)?

Maybe, I will try again on the Moke. The idea of a supercharged Moke really appeals to me.

The breather on the clutch cover is OK it all clears and should be enough to vent the crankcase.

Thanks 92. I will look at sourcing a breather-less timing cover. Wouldn't mind seeing some pics of what you have done there kasperflipped. Can you email me one or two?
