Anyone added a rear seat and seat belts to a van?

What's the legalities?

Any good sites that show how it has been done by others?

We will be doing a dickie seat in the van when Aiden is old enough to use a seat, rather than his babyseat. So i will be interested to see if a conversion can be done.

hahaha!!! I am going to put JAM on club plates and have a van as a daily driver :P

I might copy the Traveller rear seat design. Marcello has a Traveller, I can copy that.

When I was a kid living in Canberra, one of the other kids mums used to drive a mini van with seats down both sides of the van, Landcruiser Troopy style.

Not sure if it was ever legal, but we used to fight over who got to travel in the mini 8)

In Vic at least you have to get an engineer's signoff for a legal van rear seat conversion if the car is Jan 1969 or newer. Prior to that you can do it yourself without hassle.

I have a rear seat from a Suzuki Sierra I was going to use in my van. I want to sell the seat now I have a Traveller. Don't want to hack up my van.

There was an old website where some guy had a green van (UK site) and he put in rear seats and then did the thing up. He went through it all though step by step... otherwise, as I said... borrow Toby for as long as you want and see how you go with it. As long as he comes back with a polish and a vaccuum I am happy :D

I thought it was over the top. Cringing at the weight of all that MDF.

And John Cooper stickers on a van? Austin mini badges? C'mon.

Each to his own. I go for the spartan interior of the mini myself.
