Blake,
I did this mod years back on a 1220 bored 1098..
IF you use a STOCK cam and the ex seats are worn and the head hasn't been skimmed and you never over-rev it, you `could' fit it straight on.
But I wouldn't take the risk. Too many IFs...

BTW you MUST use a 1275 gasket. BK450 is best.

Anyhow, full details with dimensions, of how to pocket it are in Des Hammill's book `How to power tune the BMC/BL/Rover 998 S series'. $39.95 from www.pitstop.net.au

PM sent.

hey doc,

will have a look at that book, ive been doing quite a bit of reading VIZARDS books lately,

im going to go all out on this motor and do it right the first time through, (hopefully!)

plans are to have a GR cam to suit the blower, maybe some of you corolla highlift rockers, and hepolite pistons, (if i can find em!)

also been looking down the the NOS rd, just a 30hp shot should do it! just for the dyno days and 1/4 mile sprints, (thats just a maybe!!!)

Best 1098 pistons now are Hypatecs, but were none about a while ago.
Very hard to get good UK pistons for a 1098 now.
KC even got Hypatecs sent to UK!

Depending on the bore size, I may know where there's a set of NOS pistons in BMC boxes...
