if theres one thing that i find more usefull than anything else when working on a mini its a milk crate..... its perfect to sit on while working in the engine bay, or attending to wheels brakes or rustspots.. if you dont have a milk crate and a cusion get yourself one... if your young and fit and have a bulletproof back just remember it wont last forever... the milk crate is my hot tip... im sure im not the only one usung one or something similar, but if the idea hasnt crossed your mind, its worth thinking about..
Is this a mini mod???.. NO but it sure helps when making them....

It's illegal to keep milk crates still I think.. but my mate buys & sells antique car parts, his garage must have thousands of 'em full of bits-stacked to near ceiling.
Can't move in there..

Yes-It is illegal-You only have to read the warning on the side
of all milk crates....

our work got busted by the milk crate fuzz, when they were sitting behind one of the trucks going to a job. They came in and collected the other hundred or so that we had. ooops! no fine or anything tho.

OK then, if they're so illegal to keep, is there anywhere you can buy them legitimately?

Nah, it's easier to sand off the labels on the side.
No longer a milk crate. :D

I have two of them, wish I had more.. now Ive got the van running I'll make sure I pick up a couple more. they're stackable, light, sturdy, strong and yes make the perfect workshop seat. I spent many hours sitting on one while Ive sanded, washed and scrubbed bits and pieces.

oh and they're great to fill with supplies then use as a step when watching the V8 supercars if you happen to get a spot 10 deep :)

I was selling a fax machine at a mates garage sale once and had it sitting on two milk crates. An old biddy asked me how much for the crates soI told her $10 and I will throw in a free fax machine! :)

She got scared off though when I told her they are illegal to have! LOL

When are they going to bite the bullet and label the safe working loads (SWLs)on these things so I can legally stand on them at work.

Check the latest copy of ABR 5230...they may have it covered now :P
