Thanks for all the help so far guys, I'm learning heaps.

I have narrowed down my rough running standard 1100 to a carby leakage in the throttle linkage.

I place my finger over the end and push the throttle linkage tight against the carby
and it idles and revs silky smooth!

I checked for this after remembering I had read someone's post last week, unfortunately I can't find that post now.

I think the suggested fix was; new carby, re-bushing, or I think someone mentioned machining the hole and replacing with a larger diameter shaft?

Some guidance would be much appreciated.

When I had my car worked on last I was told I had the same issue.
I think he said there was a kit available to re bush it. It's probably only a one piece kit, but it would be cheaper than another carb.

The overhaul kit has new bushes and butterfly shaft - It will come up like new but you will need a vertical drill or lathe to get the holes plumb.

Yes you can also get an oversize shaft. Less hassle than fitting bushes. Often, the shaft wears more than the body does- measure both first. A new standard shaft may fix it.
