The blower looks quite happy perched up there. :D
Can you run a standard bonnet with this car or will you need a bulge for clearance or a scoop for cooling or anything?

two things...Do you have gaskets between the carb and the manifold..not that it will make a great deal of difference for clearance but I think you will still need them and also to do a dit of cutting on that bracket.

Also where did you get the linkage from...Bling ..Nice

That does not look like a oem one? I have a hif44 from uk with the proper heat shield and bracket, you may need a longer cable also? I think that comes in the vmax kit?

looking at the bracket now, i had to swap mine around linkage on the other side & i tacked a washer there you also need the special metal holder as well..

that bracket needs to be flipped to the other side & spun around.

if you need photo's let me know.

Linkage side is fine by me but its the bracket that is attached to the heat shield which also does not have a connection for the Choke and looks to me not for a Mini

this is mine but an old photo with a goos neck manifold (longtime gone

Connected a battery and turned over the engine tonight.
First time it has turned in about 5 years.
Amazing how much oil comes out of the oil pressure hole when its not plugged up
Now to work out how to mount the coil and all of the Mega jolt parts, find a fuel pressure regulator, connect the fuel pump, add some fuel and I might be silly enough to try and start the engine before I go away next week.

Yeah!
It started and ran for 10 seconds :)
Been getting the engine all connected up with power and fuel over the past week
Unfortunately the carby leaks so I had to stop the fuel pump, but engine started surprisingly easy and sounded very good.
Now I need to find a kit for the carby and fix the leak

Removed the carby and checked the needle and seat, reassembled and all OK
Took a while to start but eventually started when I pored some fuel into the carby.
Obviously needs the carby and the timing to be fine tuned but at least it now runs.

And yes the motor is stopped in this photo as when it is running it has nearly 80lbs of oil pressure
