Wow..that's some crazy weight transfer

Get yourself some competition rear hydro bump stops and drain some fluid out of it!

thanks madmorrie the valve idea is a good one i might look into that a bit more. ive been told draining fluid is bad for the bags and can damage them so i might avoid that. however i am going the competion bump stops soon and i will be getting front shockers

Draining the fluid completely yes, but i said some you only need a 3 or 4 finger gap and it looks like i could fit all five fingers or more under your front guards.

Mate, I've been running "below stock" height in my bags for YEARS without problems. I can only just fit one of my skinny fingers between the top of the tyre and teh bottom of the wheel arch. Having 3 or 4 fingers isn't going to do your car any harm. My car is high enough that only really big hits of the suspension make it hit the bump stops. On the rear I have about 2 - 3 fingers worth of height.

I could really notice the difference in handling when I went from higher than stock height (for road worthy) to the dropped on its guts look it has now.

Cool pics, it dose look like it's sitting pretty high for standard in the first pic. If it was me I'd get it lowered an inch or two

Yeah, I always ran lower than stock in my old car. Once I had it pumped up after replacing the rear subframe, and they just pumped it to stock height. On the drive home I hooked into a turn and it just went straight, the lower height made a huge difference.

I took it back next day to be lowered again...

Nick you have no where near the horsepower of this car and you probably weigh about 40 kgs when totally wet so it probably wouldnt matter if yours was on the bump stops!! :P

Hey Scott......... :P

I can make really good "bromm" noises though

I was just trying to say it won't matter if they are a bit lower. I think I run my car the lowest out of any hydro mini's that I've seen  Except for the ones with no fluid / blown bags

Hey, i love your thread. Nice pics and explanation. A year or so, I took my mini to Calder but only got a single run because it was mega crowded. The only time i recorded was a 17.95. My mini at the time was not supercharged, just a 1330cc A+ with a 1&3/4" SU and a few mods. I would have thought that you would have done a fair bit better than the times that you recorded. How bad were the traction issues you were having? Were you wheelspinning for long?

Anyhow... my real reason for replying is that i've caught the forced induction bug and have decided that i will go down the sc12 route. I had put it off in the past because i was told that the sc12 kit wouldn't work in hydro cars. How have you got around that issue. Yours is clearly hydro, i can see the lines there. Do you have any pics of how the kit clears them?

Some day i may like to come have a look... are you ever over the St Kilda, Elwood, Brighton side of town?

Thanks Molina

Yeah traction was a majour majour issue i wheel spun basically the entire first gear every run at street pressure and down to 20psi i really need semi racing slicks atleast.

The hydro doesnt help either. its pretty much standard so it leaned back and only used the outside edges of the tyres for grip, it actually pulled hard left toward the wall on me into second and third from traction loss but as a road car i didnt want to go the lsd route.

the hydro pipe is fairly simple it needs to be re mounted to the right as far as u can move it. I did mine without depressurising the system by cutting the old mount and welding it to the body off to the side as shown below. Is fairly messy looking though.

Theres been a few ideas going around that i really like the sound of but cannot afford at the moment, so ill be trying competition bump stops and lowering my hydro pressure, possibly some front coilovers in future along with disks

hmmm... so you can make the kit work with a hydro car. I can't quite see what you're trying to show in that pic. But the bottom line is that it's not a special hydro-friendly kit.

Nice work.
