more set backs the float in the weber was cracked so it was running like a bag of crap and flooding. i put a pulsar dizzy in too. but there is to much play in the timing gear so i am putting on new duplex sprockets and chain aswell. i have redone the floats aswell. does anyone no what the floats on the plastic type floats should be set at because i have found mix information.

According to my book-

15mm, full droop

7.5mm, fuel shut off- with lid held held vertical.

Dunno, that was from Des Hamill's book. Let me check another...
OK Stuart,
those settings I gave above were for Italian made Webers with brass floats.
The later Spanish ones with plastic floats use 12.0mm fuel shutoff height, and 26-27mm full droop. These dimensions are all with gasket in place.

i have had it running for the last week or so now much better with a floats that works. much more power than before. i need to replace the timing gear though it's abit sloppy. i have all the parts i just have to get around to doin it. i put in a pulsar dizzy aswell with a bosch gt 40 coil. not the "r" type though can this cause problems. i have also noticed if held at 6000rpm in top gear for more than 15 seconds or so when i go to put the power down after backing off for maybe 2-5 seconds it seems hesitate and sounds like it's being over come by air and not getting fuel. could i be runnin out of fuel in the bowl. i am running 40 thou spark plug gaps if that helps

Pulsar dizzy is DESIGNED to use a 1.5 ohm resistor type eg GT40-R coil. Yes it will work with a stock one, but will not fire big plug gaps as it should.
