Another weekend goes by and still no weber installed :( Been busy with painting the house and fixing all those things that need to be done before it goes on the market.
I have got those side mouldings on board though ;)
Possibly weber tomorrow but dont count on it, I still have to finish my 04/05 books  which was another "job" for this long weekend.. :(

PS I have got the gasket though, just need more time

ok, couple of slight problems...
Before I took the SU off, I have a breather pipe from rocker cover to SU and there is a throttle cable body holder (on the SU body) before it attaches to the throttle.
Image

The weber doesnt have (or I cant find) the throttle cable body holder, nor does it have somewhere to connect the breather pipe. The breather pipe can go to atmosphere for now (is this an excuse to buy a ricey oil catch can for the Mini?)..
but what do I do about the cable holder? I thought of taking the one off the SU but its a big plate and specially designed for the SU.. I know there must have been one before as this is the same weber I was using originally before I rebuilt everything. The weber was rebuilt also.. have they forgotten to put a bit back or is it hiding somewhere that I cant see??

Jill, you need a cable anchor. Some are screwed onto the manifold, others are just attached to the rocker cover bolt, or a manifold stud....
Here's mine- it was attached to a manifold stud, when I had the GR manifold on...

If you can't find your original one, go and pinch something off the kid's bike & use that.
Just make sure to tell them if it's off the brake cable

Thanks drmini and awd, are these a pretty universal thing? Like any wrecker would have a couple to choose from? or will a bike one do the job just as well?

Can I buy a new one from Repco/Supercheap?Auto shops?

Thanks guys.

BTW I pulled the exhaust off coz the exhaust that was on it had to come off anyway. It didnt have the right lower section that came with my new extractors, so I pulled the old lower section off (the 2 into one piece) and replaced it with the new 2 into one piece that came with the new extractors.. I couldnt put the old exhaust back on as it was all welded together.. so.. :) I started it up anyway using hand throttle coz my throttle cable isnt working yet.... extractors only + new weber... :P damn its loud :) but the revs are much more instant, like the revs up and down much faster than with the SU which is bound to translate to faster Mini :D

After I get the throttle sorted I'll drive it down to the exhaust place for a couple of 9" hot dogs :D

All this anchor is, is a bit of twisted flat steel bar with a 5/16" hole in the bottom, and a swivel cable thingy in the top.
The one in my pic is a Lynx one.
Any carb shop should be able to cobble something up.

Hijacking the thread. The "pig" was designed for one thing - drop gravity nuclear weapons. They were also designed to be carrier based(hence the arrester hook).

The 111's came with a few extra "goodies" commensurate with their designed role. It is amazing when you work in the SA desert for 2 years and see "things" that all add up when you put it all together...
