OK... I read blumin's comments re a Barina box vs Suzy GTIs. Question- can you fit a GTI twin cam head etc onto a Barina block? Wreckers are full of 'em..

Doc, I'm not sure about the Barinas and the swifts being them same but there are nominal differences between the swift and GTi. Brief research reveals some main bearing differences only.

Wreckers may be full of Barina blocks but certainly not Gti heads. However, in addtion to there being excess Barina blocks there are also plenty of Gti blocks about too.

2 completely different engines, standard swift 60hp, gti 100hp.

You can get the 1600cc out of the vitara or swift sedan and put gti head on it i think, then a nice little turbo setup and it would be a killer combo.

Yeah, yeah.

I'm a Suzuki ignoramous. Couldn't remember if you said it was a GTI or not.

Do they GTIs look any different? GTI badges or something?

Yeah, factory neons. Ironing boards on the back. BIG spoky dokies on 'em with licorish for tyres. They even installed two tachos in them. One in the normal position and one mounted on the pillar that has a light on it that if you forget you're revving the motor it'll stun you with the bright light and say "change gear now you knob".

Oh no, wait, that's the crap they put on there to make it go quick and to differentiate them from the other shopping trollies (cino/ barina gs/ extreme/ sportsgirl, Ha!).
