If you want Carbon fibre pannels the best place is Curley Specialised Mouldings in the UK. www.Minispeed.co.uk have there parts in stock, everything from carbon roofs to door pannels and, of course, flipfront with removable bonnets.
Iain Curley who owns the company used to race in the Mini Miglia championship so used to make the pimpy carbon bits for his race car.

From the parts that I have seen they are some of the best I have seen (and I have seen some real poo) they fit well, but most importantly they have the ultra cool carbon weave.
I think that nearly every Mini se7en and Miglia racing in the UK has at least one bit of Curley carbon.

might have to look into it...are they made for 13" rims? ie. do they have the bigger arches?

what the crap??? that's ALOT cheaper than the minispeed prices...like less than 1/2...is that markup? 210 pounds for a carbon front is a frickin bargain...i'd get one from them for sure...granted the minispeed ones say they have weave showing...but i cant imagine that'd more than double the price over the gelcoat finish...

it's a shame they are going to have killer postage on them, but they look pretty nice.

I was hoping that it wont cost the earth, and even though it's a good price over there, I have to freight it around the earth. it starts getting a bit dear unless we can find someone closer, or do a bulk ausmini buy

for prices click on the link that Inazuma posted, thier really good, postage would be greatly reduced if we shipped a few of them

Ah yes, the mark up at Minispeed is quite large, that and the chap who runs it is a bit of a dick.
Postage is going to be tricky due to the size of the fronts etc, recon email Curley and ask what they could do for a bulk buy.
I take it flipfronts are not illegal in nsw on road cars?

if you read the start of the thread, we came to the conclusion that if you could fuind an enginner that could see it as a positive and had done a job that looked professional, then they will sign it off.

myself and Inazuma are doinf 4efte conversions (Toyota Starlet turbo) and we will have to engineer that. needless to say the motor will take more work, and as I was thinking, if I could mke my custom subrafe decently strong, then their's no reason that an engineer won't be willing to sign off.

and the biggest problem they have is that the headlight's wobble (reason for failoure).
so if they are braced reasonably well ***TA DA No Problemo***

The mini subframe is strong enoughto be held in by just the floor and top mounts (would reinforce the floor first though) , you can buy ready made brace bars for flip fronts in Britain, take a look at a pic of uk mini's with flip fronts, legaly we have to put brace bars to stop that exact problem that you are talking about. But surely as long as its a good quality front and is securley held on it shouldn't wobble at all.

Curley won't post/ship anything internationally. Unless you organise a courier to pick something up from them directly. I even emailed them and never got a response..

I have family in the UK. I recon they'll be good for it. I can't blame the guys shipping anything internationally It's a big bloddy hassle in buisness. and by the looks of things on his markup he can afford to only sel a few of them a year. I will be thinking of dealing straight with curley, why make someone else rich, who's not really going to do anything if we know what we want.

how cool are the dasehes etc. these guy's are 1/2 way to making a whole mini in carbon fibre.

the other option is for me to make a few calls locally and see what were up for if I make some fibreglass moulds
