I still stand by what i said - you need EXPANDING gas to power the turbine. The fact that it is hot is just a sad but inevitable result of the inefficiency of the combustion process. You don't NEED hot gas, but to get expanding gas, hot is what you get.

now where did i put that bottle of ideal gas to use in my adiabatic process :?: :roll:

With a supercharger, you could match it with them in the straights
With a turbo (and some of Kazjims knowhow) you could leave them for dead :D




we all know they can't match a mini in the corners :wink:

just a note,

have you evernoticed that the induction side of the turbo is usually made of alloy, .......better heat disepation,

and the exhuast side of the turbo id mild steel,

my 3 cents

Exhaust side of turbo (and cast ex manifolds on all other cars too) is usually cast iron, not mild steel.... :wink:

Cast Iron: ~1200 deg C

Exhaust gas: ~800 deg C
