Have you tried an alloy rocker cover?

Three advantages,
1 - looks a lot better.
2 - Usually larger ( probably fit the rockers).
3 - holds gaskets down better from my experience (providing it's the correct one of course).

All true, but I don't think the rat turbo has one.

Nice alloy work there Ben, what brand of TIG is it, and is it one of those inverter things, they look great, take up no room and are light enough to carry around and getting cheaper all the time :D , want to get one one day.

Looks nice Ben, we all want to know about the welder!!

Is it an AC/DC welder for alloy and is it a scratch start? Would like to hear how you go welding the aluminium too as its thin stuff. Any info you can give would be appreciated.

I know it's a Chinese AC/DC with HF, I don't think it's an inverter though. He got it off eBay for ~$900.

intercooler is all done and finished so the rest is up to peter now.

welder is a ebay AC/DC was around $900 seems to be very good. Has high frequency start. the small scratch start ones are dc only no good for aluminium.

just can be seen behind the grill

So how does it go now that you have the intercooler on it?
I'm guessing more power and longer boost runs before it overheats?

And nice work for a "temporary" engine build?

Also do you have any problems with overheating your hydraulic fluids? they seems mighty close to that exhaust pipe

Hey Albino,

No problem over heating the fluids... been more than fine so far.
Its going much better, the intercooler really helps...

This temporary build is becoming the 'actual' build, isnt it.

What do you mean 'the rest' Ben :) Nothing left to do... its all perfect hehehe

Peter.
